Welcome Back for the 2018-2019 School Year!

Hello families,

Welcome back to a new school year. Just a reminder that while I handle the school discipline referrals, I also run the Character Counts program. When our teachers and staff see our students showing character, they have a chance to earn an ACT ticket and sticker. The tickets go to me, and every Monday I hold a drawing. The tickets that are chosen are read over our morning announcements and the students come to my office to pick a prize! This is a great motivator to students, so please continue to encourage your children to earn ACT tickets and stickers.

Also, every month, students and teachers focus on a certain character trait. Our order for the school year is as follows:

Trustworthiness - September
Respect - October
Responsibility - November
Fairness - January
Caring - February
Citizenship - March

Our first big character day for the school year will be Thursday, September 20th. On this day, we will hold our pancake breakfast for our character student of the month from each classroom. In addition, all students are invited to have a free dress down as long as they are wearing the character color which is BLUE. To end our day, Character Counts will hold an eegee and nacho fundraiser in the MPR after school. All proceeds go towards purchasing ACT prizes.

Thank you so much for your support! Let's have a TRRFCC school year!

Character Counts!

Hello families,

I just wanted to put out a reminder to be looking for those ACT stickers on your students. We want to make it a big deal that they have worked so hard to show us that they are
TRUSTWORTHY, RESPECTFUL, RESPONSIBLE, FAIR, CARING, and that they show CITIZENSHIP.

We will be holding our first character lunch of the year on Thursday, September 22nd. Teachers and classes will be voting for the student in their class that they feel is the most TRUSTWORTHY. Students who have won our weekly ACT ticket drawings will also be able to spin our prize wheel.

Again, thank you, parents and families, for all that you do in helping your child be successful at school.  We appreciate you!

Welcome Back to the 2016-2017 School Year at La Paloma Academy Lakeside!

Welcome back, LPA families! I hope that everyone had a nice summer and found a way to beat the heat. I enjoyed seeing LPA students and families while I was out and about during the hot summer days. It made me feel connected to school and had me excited to return.

This is my second year as assistant principal. Please feel free to stop by and say "hi!" I always love meeting new people and reconnecting with those I do know.

I hope everyone has an amazing school year! I feel very confident that this is going to be one of the best years yet!
